Quality Workx
Residential construction and repair, Burlington NC
The situation
Quality Workx does the work most homeowners eventually need. Repairs, remodels, kitchens, whole house rehabs. The customer base is enormous, anyone who owns property, which is also the problem. When everyone is your customer, nobody knows you exist.
He needed more people seeing the work.
What we did
We filmed on site, repeatedly, over several years. Sometimes it was a single walkthrough of a finished house, him showing what his team fixed, the doorknob, the fan, the wall they painted, the kitchen they remodeled. One of those walkthroughs produced twelve social videos.
One project went further. A smoker's house, full gut and rehab. We came back four separate times and captured the whole process, tearing out carpet, then the repairs, then the finish, with a walkthrough each visit. That became a four minute documentary piece, plus sixteen social videos cut from the same footage.
Across the whole relationship, it added up to somewhere north of fifty short videos from a handful of shoot days.
The part that mattered more than the footage
A while back he came to me wanting to film a new project. A shower remodel.
I told him not to.
He already had years of video sitting unused, and he'd been treating it like it had an expiration date. Old project, old footage, can't post that. That's how most contractors think about it.
Here's what I told him. Nobody watching knows how old the project is. Nobody cares. The people seeing that video today aren't the same people who saw it eight months ago, and the ones who did won't remember. You don't have to say it's new. You don't have to say it's old. It's just work you did, and it's still good.
He started reposting. They kept working.
What happened
He's still posting videos we made years ago. They're still bringing in work.
He never needed to hire me again for that shower. That's the point. A shoot day isn't a one time asset, it's a library, and most contractors are sitting on one they've barely used.
