Aspen Irrigation
Irrigation and sprinkler systems
The situation
Aspen Irrigation runs almost entirely on referrals. Always has. Someone calls, texts, or emails, and the owner spends twenty minutes on the phone explaining who he is, how he works, and why he's worth hiring.
Twenty minutes, every time, for every lead. Before any work is scheduled.
He wasn't short on leads. He was short on time.
What we did
One shoot day at a job site, a full irrigation install at a home in a nice neighborhood. Three or four hours filming him and his crew working, trenching, running lines, the machine work most homeowners never see.
Then we sat down with him in the yard and got his founder story. Why he started the business. What he cares about. What makes his work different from the guy who bids lower.
Two minutes, finished.
What happened
Now when someone reaches out, he sends the video.
That twenty minute sales call became a link. The video does the explaining, the founder story does the differentiating, and by the time they talk, the prospect already knows who they're dealing with.
He's been using it for years. It still works.
We know because he told us, repeatedly, in front of other people. For as long as we were in the same networking group, he vouched for the work every chance he got.
The part worth noticing
He never built a website. Never posted much on social. For most of those years, the entire system was one link he sent to people who asked.
A good video doesn't need a marketing department behind it. It just needs to answer the question a prospect is already asking.
